Conference Details

The NDC Partnership, together with the Netherlands, MUFG, and IFAD are organizing the Private Sector Roundtable, held on the margins of the 2023 UN Water Conference.

The Roundtable draws together private sector actors to explore the water-nexus approach and opportunities to increase private sector investment in this space. The event is organized as a two-hour roundtable discussion chaired by the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Invited participants include foundations, pension funds, private banks, development banks, and other actors supporting countries to increase their access to climate finance in the water sector.

The event aims to raise awareness among the private sector on integrating climate and water into national investment planning and further strengthening the water-climate nexus in implementing NDCs, particularly for climate adaptation and resilience. Participants will explore key investment barriers in water projects and potential policy changes and project structuring, financing, and delivery approaches that could enable increased private sector investment. Special focus will be given to innovative blended finance mechanisms that can more effectively leverage the catalytic capital from public and philanthropic sectors to unlock investments by large institutional investors and commercial banks in water projects.

This event is by invitation only. All times are in EST.
