Webinar Details
Peru's Ministry of Environment will launch its National Registry of Mitigation Measures on Tuesday, 22 September. This event will bring together leaders, experts and those interested in NDC implementation for a dialogue focused on experiences and lessons learned. The event will feature both a panel and substantial Q&A.
Peru's new initiative highlights the need for urgent and ambitious climate action by connecting innovation with climate action. It is the first virtual platform in Latin America for monitoring NDCs under the Paris Agreement. This novel registry model facilitates monitoring of mitigation measures and participation in market mechanisms within the framework of the Paris Agreement. It considers all stages, including evaluation, registration, and authorization of mitigation measures that seek to transfer their GHG emission reduction units.
The Ministry of Environment is the National Climate Change Authority and is responsible for the monitoring of climate action in Peru.
