Joint OECD-NDC Partnership workshop: Greening the Financial Sector: Needs and opportunities of developing countries and the role of development co-operation

There is increasing recognition of the critical role of the financial sector in driving and enabling the transition to low-emission, climate-resilient economies, and societies. Emphasizing this recognition are efforts by developed and developing countries to green their financial sectors, including through the Partnership’s Readiness Support for Greening Central Banks and international networks.  Nonetheless, more information and support are needed to speed up the transition and achieve the Paris Agreement Goals. The OECD and the NDC Partnership are organizing this workshop to promote a discussion and exchange on needs, opportunities, lessons learned, and emerging good practices on greening developing country financial systems. Insights from the workshop will inform ongoing work from the NDC Partnership and OECD on the topic.
