Expanding Access to Global Climate Funds in the Asia Pacific

Hosted by the NDC Partnership and the Green Climate Fund, this peer convening aims to foster an exchange among Asian-Pacific countries on key challenges and identified best practices related to direct access accreditation, proposal development and programming, and taking advantage of cross-fund complementarities. The event will bring together accredited direct access entities, Nationally Designated Authorities, and those currently undertaking the accreditation or proposal development process to:

• increase understanding of the accreditation requirements and criteria,
• explore best practice approaches for unlocking access and addressing barriers, and
• strengthen the climate finance network among interested countries and institutions in the Asia Pacific region to support increased access to climate financing.

During the event, countries will have the opportunity to interact directly with the Green Climate Fund, the Adaptation Fund, and the GEF (tbc) to identify ways to address the challenges they are currently facing in the accreditation process and project development.
