(15:30 - 16:30 EET) Inclusive and ambitious urban climate action – enhancing NDCs through strong sub-national government engagement

The Paris Agreement can only be achieved with cities and sub-national governments. In this session, we will explore what is needed to better integrate local governments in NDC development and implementation. We will discuss how the needs of cities and sub-national governments and how they can be better supported by learning from best practices. We will address the local climate finance gap and discuss how local requests and activities can be better linked with international project preparation facilities to secure funds for local climate action and sustainable and climate-sensitive infrastructure development.
