Adopting a ten-year implementation period (2021 – 2030), Armenia’s updated NDC has a 2030 mitigation target of 40 percent reduction below 1990 emissions level. It also maintains the country’s 2050 mitigation goal of reducing GHG emissions to at most 2.07 tCO2eq/capita, as will be reflected in its Long Term – Low Emission Development Strategy. The NDC revision was supported by the NDC Partnership’s Climate Action Enhancement Package, through UNDP EU4Climate, Carbon Limits, and the Support Unit. The NDC Partnership Plan was launched in April 2021. Armenia is also developing an NDC Implementation Plan through UNDP EU4Climate. Armenia receives support from the Economic Advisory Initiative with funding from the UK Government for the first phase and ADB for the second phase.
