Honduras submitted its updated NDC in May 2021. Engagement in the country was guided by a Partnership Plan that was under implementation from 2017 to 2020 and discussions are underway for the possible development of a new one. The country was an active participant in the Climate Action Enhancement Package, receiving support from the European Commission, NREL and UN Environment. Work centered around NDC revision support to enhance ambition within the energy sector by developing baselines, diagnostics, scenarios, and developing a strategy and an investment plan for NDC implementation. Support is also being provided to develop a regional energy goal amongst member countries of the Central American Integration System.
