Georgia’s updated NDC commits to an unconditional limiting target of 35% below 1990 level of its domestic total greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and 50-57% in case of international support. It also adopts the 2030 Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan that identify measures required to achieve the targets. The NDC update process was supported by GIZ through the NDC Partnership Climate Action Enhancement Package. Georgia submitted the latest Request for Support Letter in June 2021, which includes requests for technical and financial support to implement conditional actions in the Action Plan, technical assistance to support future priority directions identified in the Climate Change Strategy, and other related assistance. France, EBRD, GIZ, and IRENA have responded positively to the requests.
