Democratic Republic of the Congo
Member Since Nov 2016
Engagement with the Democratic Republic of Congo started in 2019. UNDP provided support in the revision of the country's NDC as part of its Climate Promise initiative. Furthermore, UNDP was also mandated to support in developing an NDC implementation roadmap (Partnership Plan). The country submitted its revised NDC in December 2021 in which it commits to a GHG emission reduction of 21% by 2030. In terms of adaptation, it identified 52 priority actions across 6 sectors: forest, agriculture, coastal zones, water resources, health and energy. The Government sent a request for a facilitator who started working in January 2022 and will be instrumental for the development of the Partnership Plan.
