Chile submitted its updated NDC in April 2020 and its long-term strategy in November 2021. Engagement in the country initiated in April 2019, through support from the World Bank and UNDP, for a consultation process prior to the submission of the enhanced NDC, a specialized consultancy around e-mobility, work on decarbonization pathways to guide the elaboration of the mid-century development and low carbon strategy, enhancing the participation of the private sector through the voluntary carbon footprint platform, and the development of a national climate change financial strategy. Chile participated in the Climate Action Enhancement Package, receiving support from the Interamerican Development Bank and UN Environment for work on sectoral carbon budgets and the development of the long-term low carbon strategy.
