In October 2021, Burkina Faso submitted its updated NDC with support from 8 members of the Partnership and technical assistance through the Partnership’s Climate Action Enhancement Package (CAEP) by raising ambition in mitigation and adaptation as well as by demonstrating commitment to the long-term goal of the Paris Agreement. The 2020 NDC revision process allowed for more participation of women and youth at the local and national levels. With the support of the NDC Partnership, the Government of Burkina Faso developed its Partnership Plan for NDC implementation in 2020. The large-scale plan is covering all sectors of the NDC and includes ongoing projects. The Government plans to update it so it can be aligned with the revised NDC.
