Benin
Member Since Aug 18
Benin submitted its revised NDC in October 2021, through CAEP and with support from UNDP, Climate Analytics, FAO, UNEP, IRENA, World Bank and BMZ/GIZ. For the first time it includes short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) and takes into account new sectors such as health and tourism. In the Partnership Plan the Government outlines projects for low-carbon, climate-resilient development such as the development of hydraulic infrastructure, sustainable management of water resources and restoration of forests and natural spaces both in rural and urban areas, such as Cotonou. The Government plans to update it so it can be aligned with the revised NDC.
