Share the road: Design guidelines for non-motorized transport in Africa

It is expected that Africa will largely expand its network of roads in the coming decades, presenting a valuable opportunity for sustainable, safe infrastructure growth. This report provides urban planners and transport engineers with design recommendations that are appropropriate for the African continent in facilitating the promotion of walking and cycling in cities; it has been developed to increase the capacity of engineers, designers, and planners involved in urban construction to create safe, non-motorized transport systems in Africa.
