Ihssane El Marouani

Morocco Facilitator

Ihssane El Marouani has a strong background in environmental engineering and quality management, with over 10 years of experience as a program manager in Morocco. She has worked on a variety of projects related to climate change, including voluntary carbon offset, GHG emissions accounting, carbon footprint for companies, climate plans for territories, energy efficiency, solar electrification, electric mobility, environmental health impact, and climate finance. Her work has focused on developing a portfolio of eligible and bankable mitigation and adaptation projects. 

In addition to her project management expertise, Ihssane has also been involved in promoting education and training for environmental and sustainable development, and building partnerships with national and local authorities, the private sector, civil society, and technical and financial partners. She has worked to ensure that strategies are clearly defined through expertise in policy planning and process management and has launched major projects around environmental issues and climate change. 

Currently, Ihssane is embedded with the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development in Morocco, where she is facilitating the implementation of the country's Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement. She is coordinating the mobilization of actors and resources and supporting the NDC Partnership Country Engagement.
