Fernando Méndez

Country Engagement Specialist

Fernando is a Country Engagement Specialist for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) at the NDC Partnership. He is responsible for the facilitation of country-driven processes and the promotion of climate actions for the implementation of enhanced Nationally Determined Contributions in line with the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.

Fernando has more than 18 years of experience in the Climate Change and Energy Sectors, working for public and private entities as well as for NGOs and international organizations.

He has a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering at Universidad Católica Boliviana, a Master's Degree in Sustainable Energy Engineering at KTH in Stockholm, Sweden; several Post-Graduate Diplomas and Professional Certificates at top-ranked universities such as Harvard and MIT. He is a Certified Senior Project Manager by the International Association of Project Managers and a Certified Expert in Sustainable Finance by the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management.

Fernando is single. He enjoys reading books, listening to music, and practicing the art of connecting with nature through photography.
