The 2019 Water & Gender Toolkit
The 2019 Toolkit is based upon the 2015 Toolkit but takes into account the 2030 Agenda and its interconnected SDGs, as well as incorporates lessons learnt from field-testing. This set of innovative Tools aims to provide a baseline for the collection of sex-disaggregated water data. It is designed to help decision makers adopt data-driven, gender-transformative water policies and reach those left behind. In this way, it may help inform policy-oriented action and bring about concrete changes to advance gender equality, the latter being essential to meet the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Strengthening gender equality in water management can further strengthen social inclusion, improve environmental sustainability and ensure food security on a global scale.
